The Inspector-General of Police Kashmir Vijay on Saturday said that IED expert Adil was among two militants killed in Tral Gunfight. Quoting IGP, the Kashmir Police Zone on its official Twitter handle wrote, “Killed militants identified as Nadeem Bhat & Rasool @ Adil, an IED expert, affiliated with outfit AuGH. 02 AK rifles recovered. Both were involved in several militancy incidents including IED blast & grenade throwing." Pertinently, five militants were killed past two days in three different encounters in South Kashmir.

Raising Jai Shri Ram slogans, Hindutva group disrupts Christmas prayers in Gurugram

A far-right Hindu group allegedly barged into the premises of a church in Pataudi on the eve of Christmas and disrupted the prayers, according to a viral video. Police, however, said they have not received any complaint. The video shows some men entering the church premises on Thursday evening and raising slogans 'Jai Shree Ram' and 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai'. They are seen allegedly pushing the choir members down the stage and snatching the mike. On Christmas, Kashmiri Muslims Serve Kehwa to Christians in St. Lukes Church in Srinagar

Kashmiri Muslims in large numbers thronged the Saint Lukes Church at the Dal gate area of Srinagar and served Kashmir's traditional beverage- Kehwa, to the Christian devotees on the occasion of Christmas. Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that Muslims from the neighborhood prepared Kehwa and made other arrangements for the devotees. St Luke’s Church was reopened after thirty years on Thursday. Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha inaugurated the renovated church, which is more than a hundred years old. The church was built in 1896 on the southwest slope of Koh e Maraan in Srinagar.

Sheikh Nadeem An encounter has started between militants and Government forces at Hairdumir area of Tral in South Kashmir's Pulwama district. A Police official said that on Saturday afternoon 42 RR of the Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police after receiving inputs about Militant presence in the area laid a cordon and search operation in the area. During the cordon, the hiding Militants opened fire on the troopers triggering an encounter. All the entry and exit points of the area have been sealed by the Forces.
