Woman killed in Sopore road mishap, driver arrested

Shabir Khan A 42-year-old woman on Wednesday lost her life in a road mishap in north Kashmir’s Sopore town. Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said an elderly woman identified as Maisara Begum wife of Abdul Rahim Kumar of Botingoo Sopore was critically injured in a road accident that took place at Model Town area of Sopore. However, she was immediately taken to sub-district hospital Sopore where doctors declared her brought dead reports added. Meanwhile, police soon after this road mishap arrested the driver and also seized the vehicle.

Residential House Gutted in Fire Mishap at Rampora, Anantnag

Sheikh Nadeem / Waris Shah On Wednesday afternoon, a residential house caught fire and was fully damaged in an accident at Rampora village of Anantnag district. Reports suggest that a massive fire broke out in a residential house belonging to Mohammad Amin Khan, son of Saidullah Khan of Rampora, Mattan. Soon after, the Fire and Emergency Department employees assisted by police and locals launched a rescue operation. However, the efforts proved futile as the enraging flames razed down the residential house to rubble. Confirming the incident, a police official said that the cause of fire was not immediately known.

Speedy Bus Mows Down Elderly Beacon Labourer in Kupwara’s Bramri

A 50-year-old beacon labourer died on spot after he was run over by a speedy passenger bus in Bramri in north Kashmir's Kupwara district on Wednesday morning, reports and officials said. A Beacon Incharge told GNS that a group of labourers was erecting a signal board along highway in Bramri, adding, during the course of time an overspeeding passenger bus fatally hit a labourer resulting in his on spot death. Another labourer also received minor injuries in the incident, the Beacon Incharge said.
