Mohan Lal, Muhammad Akram Chowdary appointed as High Court Judges

Mohan Lal and Muhammad Akram Chowdary have been appointed judges of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Additional Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Law and Justice, Rajinder Kashyap in this regard has issued a formal order stating that the President of India is pleased to appoint Mohan Lal and Muhammad Akram Chowdary as judges of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh in that order of seniority with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices. Earlier in September both judicial officers-Mohan Lal and Muhammad Akram Chowdary were elevated as judges. (KNT)

Pak NSA Moeed Yusuf turns down India’s invitation to conference on Afghanistan

Moeed Yusuf, Pakistan's National Security Advisor (NSA) on Tuesday said he would not travel to India for an upcoming conference on Afghanistan on November 10 as he dismissed India's role as a "peacemaker" in Afghanistan. India had invited Pakistan to attend the regional conference on Afghanistan being hosted by NSA Ajit Doval. However, while talking to the reporters in Islamabad, Yusuf said that he will not travel to India to attend the conference hosted by India on Afghanistan on November 10. Pakistan Declines the Use of its Airspace for Srinagar-Sharjah Flight

Pakistan has declined use of its airspace for flights from JK's Srinagar to Sharjah, which was revived after 11 years. Due to the decision, the flight from Srinagar to Sharjah will be more than an hour longer as planes will have to fly via Udaipur, Ahmedabad and Oman. The flight will also be more expensive. J-K Fee regulation committee calls for inquiry into financial affairs of PVT School in Srinagar

A committee for school fee regulation in Jammu and Kashmir has called for a thorough inquiry into the financial affairs of a leading private school here and asked the Union Territory's administration to appoint an independent authority to investigate the matter. The Committee for Fixation and Regulation of Fee of Private Schools (FFRC) has also asked the authority to submit a report within two months.
