On Monday, the Uttar Pradesh government refused to follow Allahabad High Court orders to impose lockdown in five cities - Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Kanpur, Gorakhpur from tonight till April 26 in view of the surge in coronavirus cases. The state said it will not implement the order of the court because the pandemic had virtually incapacitated their medical infrastructure especially in cities like Prayagraj, Lucknow, Varanasi, Kanpur and Gorakhpur and it has to protect both lives and livelihoods. The Government Forces on Tuesday morning launched Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the Kamla area of Tral in the Pulwama district of South Kashmir. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a search operation has been launched jointly by forces including 42 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police, and CRPF in the Kamla area of Tral. CD Hospital in Srinagar Running Short of Oxygen Beds as Covid Numbers Go Up

Srinagar’s Chest Diseases (CD) hospital is running out of oxygen beds as COVID-19 numbers have shot up meteorically in Jammu Kashmir. Professor and Head of Department, Chest Medicine, Dr Naveed Nazir Monday said that out of the around 100 beds with oxygen facility at the hospital, “90 percent” are occupied.
