Man Killed During Scuffle Over Land Dispute in Kulgam

A man was allegedly killed after a scuffle broke out between relatives over a land dispute in the Damhal Hanjipora area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district on Sunday afternoon. An official told that Abdul Rashid Chopan, 55, son of Jan Chopan allegedly fell unconscious during the scuffle with his relative Ghulam Hassan Chopan—both residents of Ahmadabad, D H Pora. The duo entered into a scuffle over a land dispute, an official said. He said Rashid was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead, adding that a case under FIR number 31/2021 under sections 147, 323 and 302 has been filed and further investigation is going on—(KNO)

Former SPO Shot Dead in Budgam Kashmir

The former Special Police Officer (SPO) and brother of Head Constable were on Sunday shot dead by unknown gunmen at Magam area of Central Kashmir's Budgam district. An official told the that unknown gunmen fired upon a former SPO at his home in the Magam area, leaving him severely wounded. The man, who was attacked is also the brother of a Head Constable, a top police official said. The administration on Sunday said that all schools of Jammu and Kashmir up to 12th standard shall continue to remain closed for physical education till April-18.
