Palpora Locals Aghast Over Shortage of Drinking Water Facility

The Inhabitants of Palapora in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) district have said that they have been facing scarcity of water in the area.

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat they said that the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department has failed to to provide scheduled drinking water Supply in the area.

The locals said they were facing scarcity of drinking water in the village from past one month, making life tough for the residents.

They alleged that they conveyed their suffering to the concerned Department several times, but all in vain, as they have paid no attention regarding our genuine demand, adding that, the locals also visited to sub-Divsion office Kokernag regarding this matter.

Meanwhile The Kashmiriyat appraised the issue with AEE Kokernag Javaid Ahmad and AEE PHE Dooru Hakim Zahoor who said that a Detailed Project Report (DPR) Formulation is under process for palpora and several others villages.

“We are sorting out the matter and there will be separate lift schemes for Palpora under JJM and water supply will be provided as per schedule, “the AEE told The Kashmiriyat.
