Panchs and Sarpanchs of Heerpora, Shopian Halqa today held a protest against a VLW (Village Level Worker), who is believed to allocate work on favoritism basis alleged the protesters.
Panchs and Sarpanchs of the said area have much resentment as they alleged that VLW is not releasing the funder which has been granted to the concerned Halqa under 15 FC, and MGNAREGA.
They further alleged that there is mismanagement of funds which is really unacceptable for them. And that the said VLW should be transfered as soon as possible from Halqa. Heerpora has been witnessing heavy snowfall since the past many months. The villagers have alleged that only 3-4 months are feasible for work but unfortunately nothing has been done yet in the Halqa.
Protesters raised slogans against the said VLW who has played with the sentiments of people of the said Halqa. They demand a stern action and have asked the concerned authorities that his transfer be made immediately so that the work doesn’t suffer.
In village Heerpora, hundreds of MGNAREGA job card holders work on daily basis and feed their families. But the said VLW did not allocate any work. They further said that Director Rural Development Department and the Deputy Commissioner Shopian should intervene into the matter so that they feel a sigh of relief.
