Earlier this week, on Thursday, when after the first meeting with PM after the abrogation of the special state of Jammu Kashmir, Omar Abdullah sat through a series of interviews.
On a talk show hosted by senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai, when Omar Abdullag was asked if the restoration of statehood and the return of Article 370 were the pre-requisites that they setting for the elections to be held in the valley, Abdullah replied that it’s pointless to ask this government to restore Article 370. They’re not going to do it. He said that he isn’t going to make the demand just for optics.
He said that it was pointless to ask the Modi government to restore the article 370 when they were the architects of taking it away.
He said that the fight for the restoration of the Article 370 and to win back what was taken from Jammu Kashmir, in August 2019, will take place in the Supreme Court.
Abdullah said that it was a constitutional legal battle and they will continue to wage it.
Abdullah also said that “more than one speaker in the meeting today reminded the honorable Prime Minister and Home Minister that it took about 70 years for the BJP to fulfill its commitment to remove Article 370.
