Police Detains 124 in Baramulla for Violating Covid 19 protocols – Fine of 5,95,130 Recovered

The Jammu Kashmir police in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district have arrested 124 individuals in 64 cases and recovered rupees 5,94,130 as a fine from the COVID-19 violators between 30 March to May 17  while all of the arrested persons have been released on bail.

According to a document in possession of news agency, Baramulla police has arrested a total of 124 individuals in 64 cases registered against them at different police stations while 3766 individuals have been fined for not wearing masks between 30 March to 17 May.

“All the 124 arrested individuals have been released on bail and 3766 individuals were fined by police for not wearing masks between match 30 to date.”

“A total of 5,94,130 rupees have been recovered as a fine from the COVID-19 violators,” reveals the document.

“The document reveals that police have seized 18 Tippers, 43 Tractors, 1 Truck, 4 Earth Evacuator (JCBs), Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) 12, 5 Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMV’s), 37 shopkeepers, and also 3 coaching centers were sealed.”

Notably, in wake of the spike in COVID-19 cases in the union territory of Jammu Kashmir, the administration has announced curfew in all the districts to contain the spread of the virus and allowed essential services only—(KNO)
