The student of SKUAST campus in Shalimar staged a protest on Monday in response to a week-long strike.
A complete pen-down strike was observed on Day 1 of the protest program in various faculties, Research Stations, and other constituent units of SKUAST.
Speaking to The Kashmiriyat over the phone, a protester alleged that the callous approach of university administration in ameliorating the various problems faced by the scientist fraternity.
She also alleged that during the protest the Policemen breached the walls of the university when they climbed the gate when the students were protesting inside the campus.
After the association failed to convince the university administration in addressing the problems of the scientist fraternity, the association was forced to call for a weeklong peaceful protest program.
Professor Dar hailed the scientific fraternity for responding to the call and ensuring a disciplined and peaceful protest.
