Jammu Kashmir Police has registered an FIR against Principal and Vice-Principal of St Mary’s Presentation Convent Secondary School Gandhi Nagar, Jammu after an inquiry conducted by the Executive Magistrate found them responsible for violating the Government guidelines on closure of the school during the ongoing lockdown in Jammu.
This resulted in a COVID-19 infection to one of the teachers Neelu Varinder, who later died due to the virus.
According to police report FIR No. 154/2021 u/s 188/269/270/506 IPC,3 Epidemic diseases act 1897 and 51 disaster management Act 2005 has been registered at PS Gandhi Nagar Jammu against Sister Hema (Principal) and Sister Leema (Vice Principal) and Investigation have been initiated.
