
The Jammu Kashmir Police have released a statement regarding the killing of a panch in Kulgam’s Kolpora Srundoo area.
In its statement, Police said, Today at about 2045hrs Kulgam Police received information about the incident at Kolpora area of Kulgam after which Senior police officers reached the terror crime spot.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that Militants had fired upon a Panch (Independent) identified as Mohammad Yaqoob Dar at Kolpora Srundoo area of Kulgam.
In this firing incident, he had sustained critical gunshot injuries and was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries, Police said.
The Police have registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of law. An investigation is in progress and officers continue to work to establish the circumstances which lead to this terror crime, the press release read.
