Suspected militants on Saturday afternoon shot at a Police cop in Hassanpora area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that a Policeman named Ali Mohammed Ganie, resident of Hassanpora bagh was shot by suspected militants near his house.
The Policeman was shifted to the nearby hospital for treatment. “However, he succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital,” the official said.
At GMC Anantnag, the doctor declared him brought dead.
Meanwhile forces have rushed to the spot and launched a search operation in the Hassanpora area to nab the attackers.
