President’s visit to Srinagar: DGP heads meeting of top security officials, preparations reviewed

Director General of Police J&K, Dilbag Singh, spearheaded a crucial meeting with senior officials from the Police, CRPF, Army, and Intelligence agencies to meticulously assess the security measures for the upcoming visit of the President of India to Srinagar.

As per news agency Kashmir Scroll, the comprehensive discussion revolved around formulating robust security arrangements along the President’s designated route and at the event venues, encompassing various aspects such as manpower deployment, coordination, and intelligence sharing.

During the meeting, DGP Singh emphasized the paramount importance of synergy among the different agencies involved in ensuring a safe and successful visit. He highlighted the significance of thorough briefings, enhanced patrolling, and heightened vigilance against any potential anti-national elements.

The DGP accentuated the need for optimizing available resources, leveraging advanced technology, and establishing seamless communication channels to guarantee both security and minimal disruption for commuters in the region.

Pertinently, President of India , Droupadi Murmu is set to visit the Kashmir University on October 11 where she will serve as a chief guest for the institution’s 20th annual convocation.

As per sources the event will witness President Murmu conferring degrees to over 53, 000 candidates from various academic disciplines.

Sources told news agency Kashmir Scroll that President during her visit will also deliver the convocation address to the assembly of graduates and dignitaries at the convocation complex of the university of Kashmir, Hazatbal Srinagar. (KS)
