Protest in Pattan Kashmir After Government Forces Thrash Driver

The Government Forces on Monday morning allegedly trashed a Tavera driver at the Hyderbag area of Baramulla’s Pattan in Kashmir on the Srinagar- Muzaffarabad highway.

Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that a soldier of the Indian Army beat up the driver of a Tavera, after which people from the area reached the spot and started protesting against the forces.

The Driver was thrashed without any provocation, after which he started protesting alone against the soldiers of the Army, many people from nearby joined him in the protest and shouted slogans against the Army, Eyewitnesses said.

They said that the forces allegedly damaged some vehicles as well and few people sustained minor injuries, The protests were going on in the area when this report was filed.

An Army official upon being contacted by The Kashmiriyat said that the Forces did not beat anyone. “The Window panes of a vehicle were accidentally broken, nobody was thrashed,” he said.
