Pulwama Encounter- Three ‘Local’ Militants Killed, Internet Snapped

Three Militants have been killed in the encounter broke out between militants and Government forces in Tiken area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Earlier, An official told The Kashmiriyat that a joint team of Indian Army’s 55 RR, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police on Wednesday morning launched a cordon and search operation on a tip-off about the movement of militants in this Pulwama area.

He said that as the joint teams of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.

During the exchange of gunfire, three Militants have been killed, who are from the Al Badr militant outfit, during the exchange of gunfire, one civilian was also injured.

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the trio is from the Tral area of Pulwama district in South Kashmir and have recently joined Militancy.

As per initial reports, the three have been identified as Umer Ali son Ali Mohammed Mir, a resident of Dadsara area in Tral who was active since 10,08,2020, Owais Farooq son Allie, resident of Noorpora, Tral, active since 08,08/20 and Mehraj u Din Lone, Bashir Ahmed, a Resident of Arigam Pulwama who has been active since 01 July, 2020.

One civilian was also injured during the encounter, he is being treated at a local hospital and is said to be stable.

The Government Forces are still conducting searches at the site of the encounter, Sources told The Kashmiriyat.

Meanwhile mobile internet has been snapped across South Kashmir districts.
