Ramban resident booked under PSA ‘for anti national activities’

Jammu Kashmir Police in District Ramban booked one person under the Public Safety Act (PSA) for involvement in anti-national activities.

According to a press release received by The Kashmiriyat, the Ramban Police booked Ghulam Nabi, son of Abdul Rehman Chandail, a resident of Bhimdassa, Tehsil Gool, District Ramban under the Public Safety Act.

“He has been placed under preventive detention due to his involvement in anti-national and anti-social activities in Gool and its surrounding areas. This measure reflects our steadfast resolve to ensure the safety and security of our community,” Police said.

Acting on the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police District Ramban, Anuj Kumar, a comprehensive dossier on Ghulam Nabi was meticulously prepared and forwarded to the District Magistrate Ramban for approval, as per the press release

The Police spokesperson further said that the case was subsequently processed, and upon obtaining the necessary sanction from the competent authority under Section 8 of the Public Safety Act (PSA) 1978, Ghulam Nabi was detained under the PSA and lodged in District Jail Jammu.

“This decisive action underscores our relentless commitment to safeguarding our region against threats to national security,” Police said.
