The inhabitants of Khargund in Devsar Constituency in the juridiction of South Kashmir’s Kulam are on protest against use of sub standard material by RDD department.
Speaking to The Kashmiriyat hundreds of people of Hajam Mohalla Khargund of tehsil Devsar in Kulgam expressed their anguish over the use of Sub-standard material used by contractors while construction of Khargund Main to Hajam Mohalla Road which is being constructed under MGNREGA by block Devsar of Rural Development Department.
The people alleged that they were rebuked by the concerned contractor when asked about the use of such material.
A local speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that the said work is being done by some contractors who are having a nexus with the block level officials.
The people appealed higher ups of RDD to look into the matter and set it aright. In an angry mode people told that they will sweep off the material of said road aside as it has been a hurdle to pedestrians and vehicles for having only crusher boulders (Khak Bajri) spread over the road.
The people expressed their trust over BDO Devsar for timely redressal of the issue and demanded strong lawful action against the officials involved in the nexus.
