Residents of Sopore Area Protest Against Pathetic Condition of Roads

The residents of Haritar Rakh e Hygam area of Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district claimed that years have passed since we residents are demanded redressal of our roads problem.

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat the locals said that due to the dilapidated condition of the road the commuters are facing various problems.

They said that the road which connects their area with many other villages gives a nightmarish experience to residents and transporters as the road has been totally tattered and has potholes at many spots.

“We have been facing a lot of issues due to the pathetic condition of the roads, The sufferings double during rainy weather as the condition of the road deteriorates further,” a local told The Kashmiriyat.

They appealed to concerned authorities to look into the matter and fulfill their demand at the earliest.

The Kashmiriyat appraised the issues with Shabir Ahmad in-charge officer of JKPCC who said that two months ago the road was switched to JKPCC as earlier it was under world bank.

He said tenders has been issued and soon work will be started on the said road.
