Senior RSS leader said that when Kashmir was suffering from militancy in 1990, the Sangh had helped not only Kashmiri Hindus but also Muslims.
Arun Kumar, an RSS leader said that when militancy was at its peak in Jammu and Kashmir in the 1990s, the Sangh was working on several fronts, ranging from pressurizing the government to hand over the area to the army to spreading nationwide awareness to save Kashmir and assisting the general civil society in the Valley.
“We had also helped Muslims when militants started targeting them (Muslims) after the deportation of Hindus from Kashmir. Kumar, joint general secretary of the RSS, was addressing a function here to launch a book titled ‘Conflict Resolution – The RSS Way’. He said that after independence, a wrong perception was created against the Sangh that it is a fascist and Hindu extremist organization and such an ecosystem is still spreading misinformation about the RSS.”
Addressing the event, RSS National Executive Member Ram Madhav said that the massive campaign of the RSS is to unite the people of the country.
He said the Sangh is criticised as it is a successful and influential organisation today.
Later, speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the event, Madhav praised the film ‘The Kashmir Files’, saying it was an attempt to bring out the truth to the present generation so that they remember what happened to Kashmiri Hindus in the 1990s.
