On Sunday, Saudi Arabia’s King Salman informed the US President Donald Trump about the country looking forward to achieving a fair and permanent solution to the Palestinian dispute, with its main stating point being the Arab Peace Initiative, the state news agency reported.

King Salman and President Trump spoke over a phone call following the historic August 13th US-backed UAE-Israel deal which made the UAE the third Arab state to normalize ties with Israel after Egypt and Jordan.

While King Salman spoke about appreciating US efforts to bring peace, he also told Trump about how the kingdom is eager to see a fair and permanent solution for Palestinians based on the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative proposed by Saudi.

The 2002 Arab Peace Initative proposes Arab nations normalizing ties with Israel in return for Israel having a statehood deal with the Palestinians and completly withdrawing from Palestinian land captured in the 1967 Middle East war.

It is important to mention that Saudi Arabia does not recognize Israel.

However, after the Israeli and US delegation visited UAE in order to discuss the UAE-Israel deal last month, Saudi stated that it would permit Israeli airlines and flights between the UAE and Israel to use its airspace.

Jared Kushner, White House adviser and Trump’s son-in-law, stated other Arab countries could follow UAE quickly in normalizing ties with Israel. When asked when this would happen, Kushner was quoted as saying: “Let’s hope it’s months, according to UAE state news agency WAM.buy lipitor generic rxnoprescriptionrxbuyonline.com/lipitor.html over the counter

No other Arab country has yet hinted plans to follow the UAE in normalising ties with Israel.

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Kushner spoke about the need for the Palestinians and the Israelis to restart talks to reach peace after Kushner visited the UAE last month, according to reports by the state news agency SPA.

Palestinians have overwhelming denounced the UAE-Israel agreement by often refering to it as a “stab in the back” to their struggle.
