As per a latest report by QNN, a court in Saudi Arabia has sentenced 21 Palestinian and Jordanian citizens for long periods in jail over their views supporting the Palestinian resistance.

As per the report, these already jailed citizens have been sentenced for periods between 3-22 years.

An appeal to the court can be filed after 40 days.

It has come to the fore that the families of these prisoners were barred from attending the session by the Saudi authorities. Only one member from each family was allowed in. The families were shocked by the decision of the Saudi court.

It is pertinent to mention that Hamas’ official representative in Saudi Arabia, Muhammad Khodari, has also been sentenced to 15 years in jail.

Meanwhile, the decision has been criticized by various resistance factions.

The Hamas leader, Mahmoud Al Zahhar, has said that the Saudi decisions against the prisoners were unexpected. He said that “the trials are not even legitimate” because they were not based on any crimes.

He said in a TV statement, “The Saudi rulings are a response to demands made by zionists.”

“Is fundraising for those who need help in Palestine a crime against Saudi Arabia now?” he said.
