In anticipation of India’s Republic Day festivities, robust security measures have been meticulously implemented throughout the Kashmir valley.

The deployment of additional security personnel along highways and crucial road links aims to preempt any potential untoward incidents in the region.

Over the past few days, police and paramilitary forces in Srinagar and other district headquarters have been actively conducting identity checks and thoroughly frisking individuals, reinforcing the overall security posture.

The central event in Jammu Kashmir, presided over by the incumbent Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, is scheduled to unfold in Jammu.

Simultaneously, a parallel celebration with similar arrangements is slated for Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar. Recognizing the significance of maintaining peace and order during the festivities, the security apparatus, led by Inspector General of Police V.K. Birdi, has undertaken extensive sanitization and area domination exercises across the length and breadth of the Valley.

The security architecture incorporates a three-tier setup, blending human intelligence with cutting-edge technology.

High-end drones and vehicles equipped with CCTV cameras are strategically deployed to closely monitor activities.

In addition, Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) have been issued directives to remain vigilant in their respective areas, further fortifying the preventive measures against any unforeseen incidents.

Emphasizing the comprehensive preparations, Inspector General V.K. Birdi emphasized the commitment to ensuring smooth and peaceful celebrations.

He highlighted the integration of the latest technology, including high-end drones and CCTV-equipped vehicles, into the security framework.

The meticulous planning also extends to a full-dress rehearsal scheduled to take place at all venues across the Valley today, underscoring the dedication to seamless execution and the safeguarding of public safety during the Republic Day celebrations.
