The Shiv Sena Staged protest demonstration on Monday in Jammu against the Kashmir Premier League, which has gained headlines for the past few days.
Shouting Slogans against Pakistan, a dozen persons gathered in Jammu and burnt the effigies of Pakistan prime minister, Imran Khan while calling for Pakistan to shut down the league being organized in Muzaffarabad.
Earlier, the legendary South African opener Herschelle Gibbs taking to twitter said that the BCCI- the board incharge for cricketing activities in India threatened him to not participate in the Kashmir Premier League.
The Pakistan Cricket Board too has lashed out at BCCI: “Such conduct from the BCCI is completely unacceptable, against the preamble of the Spirit of Cricket and sets a dangerous precedence, which can neither be tolerated nor ignored. The PCB will raise this matter at the appropriate ICC forum and also reserves the right to take any further action that is available to us within the ICC charter,” read the PCB statement.
The protesters gathered near the Vikram Chowk of Delhi and shouted slogans against the Pakistani Prime Minister and the Kashmir premier league and said it was propaganda of Pakistan to defame India.
Kashmir Premier League the first edition of which will be played between five teams representing cities in Pakistan-administered Kashmir and one team representing Kashmiris in Diaspora, was announced in December 2020.
