Shopian vehicle blast: One trooper succumbs, two undergoing treatment

One among the three Indian Army troopers injured during a road accident in Sedow Shopian has succumbed to his injuries.

“At approximately 0300 a.m., based on specific intelligence, an operation was launched from (Sedaw) COB to lay cordon and search in general area Patitohalan While moving to the target area, at approximately a km from (Sedow), an explosion took place in the civil hired vehicle, being used by the team, resulting in injuries to three Indian Army soldiers,” army said in a statement.

An official told The Kashmiriyat that the trio was initially treated at the District Hospital, Shopian and thereafter evacuated to 92 Base Hospital, Srinagar.

The injured trooper Parveen Kumar was shifted from 92 base hospital Srinagar to Udhampur in a critical condition, however, he succumbed to his injuries. “the other two troopers are stable and are undergoing treatment,” the official said.
