Thousands participated in the funeral prayers of slain cop Tanveer Ahmad of IRP 17th BN at Kharpora-Chitergul of Anantnag District who was killed in firing by unknown gunmen at Gailender-Pampore.

Ct. Tanveer Ahmad Malik has been laid to rest at his native graveyard at Kharpora-Chitergul of Anantnag District who died due to attack by gun men at Gailender-Pampore of Pulwama District. In this incident two cops also got injured who belong also to the Shangas Tehsil.

The slain cop is survived by father, mother, elder sister & elder brother. He belonged to extremely poor & downtrodden family having no alternative source of income, while as, no one in the whole dynasty is serving the govt. job. He completed his graduation at Degree College Uttersoo & joined the Police in 2016. His first appointment was at Devsar of Kulgam & then transferred to Kehribal-Mattan & left for duty early in the morning but never returned back except coffin which shocked the whole area.

His father & maternal uncle told The Kashmiriyat that their son was not well equipped lacking all such bullet-proof jacketing, helmet & vehicle which is necessary in the valley due to the prevailing situation, otherwise they would not have lost their beloved & brave sole bread earner.

They also claimed that no senior police officer was accompanying them during this long travel in the late hours which is already a difficult job in the valley. According to the family members they are not ready to allow their elder son to join the Police because, who will take care of their old aged & distressed parents & appealed the govt. to sanction an immediate order of appointment in any civil department.

It is evident, that thousands of people participated in the funeral prayers (nimaze-jinaza) of the slain cop with wet eyes.
