Taking to social media, the Jammu Kashmir Police issued a warning to internet users to refrain from “aiding” militancy saying the same may invite the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

The warning was issued on Twitter immediately after the attack in Srinagar’s Zewan area in which eleven Policemen were injured and three others killed when militants fired at the bus.

“Beware Social Media users. Aiding and abetting of terror is as grave as the actual act of terror. It is punishable under Unlawful Activities of Prevention Act (UAPA),” reads the tweet

An employee of Jammu Kashmir bank was the recent victim of the Social media activity. She was suspended by the bank for using an “inappropriate” emoji over a post referring to the death of General Bipin Rawat in a chopper crash.

Two residents of Rajouri were arrested over a sensitive Facebook post on the same incident.

Kashmiri students were arrested in Agra for sharing a post over Pakistan’s victory in the initial encounter of T20 last month. The three were booked under the sedition act by UP police.

The administration issued a notice to an employee of the Forest Department for criticizing the Power Development Department (PDD) for poor electricity during winters.
