The dilapidated condition of roads in Sopore area of district Baramulla, including link road of upper Ashpeer has been giving tough time to the commuters. The residents, here, have appealed the concerned authorities to maintain the road to avoid agitation.

Talking to The Kashmiriyat, locals said that the condition of the link road of upper Ashpeer was so bad that no vehicle can ply on it. So many potholes have surfaced that it is possible that accidents can occur at any moment, the locals said.

Every commuter, including people of different professions including businessmen, office staff, school-going students, especially the elders of the surrounding areas and other passers-by are in great danger, said a local.

Locals complaining about the administration’s carelessness said, “The road is dotted with potholes, which speaks volumes about the tall claims of the administration of improving road connectivity.”

The residents also alleged that they repeatedly tried to bring the matter to the notice of the concerned officials of R&B, “but no one pays attention to this grave issue.”

“Now, we are requesting the ADC, Sopore to kindly look into the matter, so that we get rid of the problem,” the residents told The Kashmiriyat.

Meanwhile, The Kashmiriyat contacted the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Parvaiz Sajad, who said that he would take up the matter with R&B, soon.
