Srinagar Encounter- Search Lights Installed, Reinforcement Called in; Four Force Personnel Injured

Four Government Force personnel have been injured during the ongoing encounter that broke out on Thursday night between Government forces and militants in the Gomander Mohalla of Panthachowk area of Srinagar.

An official said that a joint team of police and CRPF had laid a cordon in the area to arrest a suspect.

He said that as the joint team of forces intensified searches towards the suspected spot, they came under massive fire.

During the exchange of gunfire, three Policemen and one CRPF men have been injured, who have been rushed to the hospital.

Locals meanwhile said that after blasts and intense exchange of gunfire, a complete lull is being witnessed at the encounter site.

An official confirming the exchange of gunfire to The Kashmiriyat said that reinforcements from 28BN, 115BN QAT of CRPF and the Special operations group of Jammu Kashmir Police have been rushed to the spot and searchlights have been installed.

“Two to three Militants are believed to be trapped,” he said.

During the exchange of the gunfire, two police personnel have been injured, who have been rushed to the hospital.
