A ban under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act may be imposed on both factions of the Hurriyat Conference which has been spearheading the separatist movement in Jammu Kashmir for over two decades, officials said. They said a recent probe into the granting of MBBS seats to Kashmiri students by institutions in Pakistan indicates that the money collected from aspirants by some organizations which were part of the Hurriyat Conference conglomerate was being used for funding terror organizations in the union territory. School Teacher Booked Under PSA in Kupwara Kashmir

Rayees Shah The authorities booked a private school teacher under the Public Safety Act (PSA) in North Kashmir's Kupwara District. Zahoor Abbas Khan (39) son of Mohammed Abbas Khan who is a resident of Devar area in Lolab belt of this North Kashmir district has been booked under PSA and shifted to the District Jail in Kupwara. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that in the fist week of July,  Zahoor had been summoned by Police Station Lolab, he went there and was detained. The detention was questioned by the family members, however the family says their questions were simply evaded. April 05 Mohammed Umer The Jammu Kashmir Government on Thursday booked a senior Hurriyat leader under Public Safety Act (PSA) in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Sheukh Danish Mushtaq, who is the district president for Geelani's Hurriyat was arrested on 16 March and was booked under PSA on Thursday. Danish has been shifted to Kupwara District jail. April 04 There will be a no civilian traffic movement on most part of the 300-km long National Highway on Sunday and Wednesday from 4 am to 5 pm every week till May 31, 2019, in view of the possibility of terror attack on security forces' convoys during the Lok Sabha elections. The prohibition on movement of civilian traffic on these two days of each week would be from Baramulla through Srinagar, Qazigund, Jawahar-Tunnel, Banihal and Ramban till Udhampur, an official government statement said.
