Teenage boy allegedly commits suicide in Anantnag, fourth case in less than a week

A teenager youth allegedly committed suicide in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Locals told The Kashmiriyat that on Wednesday morning, a 12-class student (name withheld) was allegedly found hanging at his home in the Utersoo area of Shangus in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

The family of the 18-year-old boy spotted him and rushed him to the nearby hospital, they said.

“However, upon his arrival at the hospital, he was declared brought dead by the doctors,” they added.

An official confirming the death to The Kashmiriyat said that the Police have registered a case in this regard and launched a probe into the incident.

Pertinently this is the fourth case of alleged suicide reported in a week in the Kashmir valley.

On January 08, A 14-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide in a rented house in Srinagar outskirts.

Earlier, on Thursday, a 21-year-old girl allegedly hanged herself to death in the Trikolbal village of Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
