A 19-year-old girl was allegedly raped in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
In a press release, the Jammu Kashmir Police said that Police in Budgam has arrested a person accused of rape within 05 hours after the complaint was received.
Police Station Khan Sahib received a written complaint from one person stating therein that his daughter (name withheld) aged about 19 years was forcefully raped by Mudasir Ahmed Wani resident of Zagoo Kharein, Polcie said.
They said that a case vide FIR Number 67/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Khansahib and an investigation was set into motion.
Acting promptly, the police team of PS Khansahib swung into action and arrested the accused from Zagoo Khansahib within 05 hours. He has been shifted to the police station where he remains in custody. As a part of the investigation, necessary medico-legal formalities have been carried out.
Further investigation in the matter is going on.
