Three Kashmiri students suspended from Agra college now arrested for ‘Posting status in favor of Pak after match’

The three Kashmiri students of RBS College, Agra in Uttar Pradesh province, who were suspended for uploading status in favor of Pakistan after India Vs. Pakistan cricket match on Sunday, have now been arrested by the U.P. police.

It has emerged that other students studying at the same educational institution were in a state of fear and anxiety, and were to return to Kashmir.

Nasir Khuehami, the national spokesperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association, took to Twitter to announce the news. He tweeted, “3 Kashmiri students of RBS College Agra who were suspended & booked for uploading status in favour of Pakistan after India Pakistan C.Match have been arrested by Police now. Rest K.students of institution to return back kashmir due to fear & Anxiety.”

In a notice issued by the Raja Balwant Singh Engineering College in Bichpuri, three Kashmiri students were suspended on 25 October for allegedly supporting Pakistan in the cricket match. Students named Arsheed Yousuf from Civil Engineering, Inayat Altaf Sheikh from Civil Engineering and Showkat Ahmed Ganie, the college alleged, were found involved in “indiscipline act of posting status in favour of Pakistan after the India & Pakistan Match on 24/10/2021,” reportedly.

Meanwhile, two medical students and non-teaching staff in Srinagar were also booked under UAPA for similar charges. In Samba district of Jammu Kashmir, nearly six were booked for the same.
