Rich tributes were paid to slain Mirwaiz of south Kashmir, Dr. Qazi Nisar on his 28th anniversary at martyrs graveyard in Islamabad district on Sunday. Hundreds of people from all over south Kashmir thronged the Martyrs graveyard in the south Kashmir town and offered Fateh Khawani to the slain patron of Ummat e Islami who was also the architect of the Muslim United Front in 1987.
People also visited Dialgam where the leader was shot dead by unknown gunmen, and where locals had arranged drinking water for the passer-by’s. Floral tributes were paid to Dr. Qazi Nisar Ahmed.
Due to a Police raid, Jammu Kashmir Ummat e Islami canceled the public function, However, various religious and political parties thronged his graveyard and paid rich tributes to the slain Mirwaiz.
On this occasion, food was provided to more than three hundred needy people in the Anantnag district of south Kashmir by Khair e Aam Trust. The Trust also arranged food for the patients and their attendants at the district hospitals of all four districts. More than 800 food packets were distributed in these hospitals to commemorate the 28th martyrdom anniversary of Dr. Qazi Nisar.
Remembering his services, Moulana Abdul Rashid Dawoodi said, “Dr. Qazi Nisar’s victory is and the loss of his killers is in the fact that even 28 years after martyrdom, his mission is prospering and will continue to prosper. The leader lives across the mental spaces of Kashmir. He did not budge down to the power.”
Nobody in Kashmir has forgotten his sacrifices. “Kashmiris have not forgotten him, nor has any Kashmiri from the day he sacrificed the animals to defy beef ban or to uniting Kashmir under a single banner in 1987.”
Jammu Kashmir Ummat e Islami later offered Fateh Khawani to all those who have been killed in recent months and demanded the release of hundreds of Kashmiri Political prisoners.
Meanwhile, several Hurriyat leaders from south Kashmir visited the Martyrs’ graveyard and rich rich tributes to the slain leader.(Press Release)
