Two Civilians Injured by a Bear on the Outskirts of Srinagar

Two civilians were mauled and injured by a wild bear on the outskirts of Srinagar. The bear strayed off the wildlife conservatory and entered the civilian localities. The injured civilians have now been shifted to a hospital where their condition remains critical.

Officials told The Kashmiriyat  that bear has entered the residential areas in Hazratbal and attacked 2 men, leaving both of them critically injured.

They have been identified as 47 year old Ghulam Mohiuddin Sheikh S/O Abdul Rehman and 30 year old Manzoor Ahmed Dar S/O Late Ghulam Qadir Dar. Both of the injured civilians were residents of Munzpora Khimber – Hazratbal in Srinagar.

The injured men were then rushed to a hospital where they are being treated for their injuries but, their health remains critical due to the extent of their grievous injuries.

Locals of Munzpora Khimber, Hazratbal informed the Wild Life Department and they dispatched the Animal Control Team who can safely nab the bear before it can cause more damage to the localities and civilians. The bear as of now, is roaming freely in residential areas on the outskirts of Srinagar.
