Two Militants have been killed during an encounter between militants and Government forces at Bagendar area of Bijbehara in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (anantnag) District.
Officials told The Kashmiriyat that on Thursday morning 3 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police after receiving inputs about Militant presence in the area laid a cordon and search operation in the area around 2 am.
The cordon continued for nearly two to three hours, during which the hiding Militants opened fire on the troopers triggering an encounter.
All the entry and exit points of the area have been sealed by the Forces.
As per initial reports available to The Kashmiriyat two Militants have been killed in the exchange of gunfire, who as per Sources are both Local residents.
The firing has stopped as of now, however, the search operations are still going on at the site of the encounter.
Locals told The Kashmiriyat that no firing has been heard at the site of the encounter. They said that one of the Militant trapped at the encounter site was from Islamabad (anantnag) township.
Mobile internet services have been barred in Islamabad (anantnag) South Kashmir District, Also restrictions have been imposed in the Islamabad (anantnag) township.
