Two militants killed in Srinagar encounter were foreigners: Police

Two foreign militants have been killed in the encounter between government forces and militants in Beshembar Nagar of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Sunday.

Police officials said that two militants were killed during the exchange of gunfire. “Two Pakistani militants associated with Lashkar e Taiba have been killed in Bishambher Nagar encounter,” the inspector General of police said.

On Sunday, the joint team of Police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Beshembar Nagar during which the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight, Police said.

During the exchange of gunfire, two militants have been killed and three Government force personnel injured.
