Two More Indian Soldiers Killed in Ceasefire Violation on LOC, Toll 5, Four Civilians Also Killed

With the killing of two more soldiers along the Gurez sector in Bandipora area of North Kashmir, the death toll of soldier killed in ceasefire violations in Jammu Kashmir rose to 5.

An official told The Kashmiriyat that the Pakistani rangers on Friday restored to unprovoked firing near Hajipper Sector in Uri, In Rajouri, Gurez in Bandiporaalong the line of Control that divides Kashmir between India and Pakistan.

They said that nine persons including five Government Forces personnel were killed, while six others were injured, one of whom has been shifted to Srinagar hospital for advanced treatment.

The official identified the killed BSF Sub Inspector as Rakesh Doval adding that, “Two others have received injuries during the cross-border firing.”

The two others killed during the firing were from the 18th Maratha regiment of the Indian Army.

Those killed in Gurez have been identified as Naik Satai Bhusha and sepoy Jon Dhale Rushikesh, both residents of Maharashtra.

The official said that three civilians were also killed during the firing, while one civilian succumbed to his injuries later.

He identified the slain civilians as Farooq Begum wife of Bashir Ahmed Dar, Nadir Hussain Peer son of Peer Mohammed Hussain, and Tahir Ahmed son of Jalal u Din.
