The residents of the Matipora area in Tarathpora of Kupwara district’s Ramhall belt have said that they have been suffering due to the absence of electricity in their area for the last two weeks.
Speaking to The Kashmiriyat the residents said that two weeks ago the village transformer went out of order and since then the electricity in the area has been defunct. “We are facing a lot of hardships in absence of electricity,” the residents said.
Also, the locals charged that the Power Development Department (PDD) was “indifferent” to their problems. “It has been more than two weeks now, there is not even a whisper by the officials which speaks volumes about the lack of concern for our woes,” A local said.
They said that despite repeated requests, there is not any effort by the concerned officials to get the transformer repaired.
