“Unsatisfactory evaluation status,” Kashmir University UG students aghast, demand re-checking

The undergraduate students of batch-2018 are in anger as the evaluation status of 5th semester fails to satisfy them.

According to the students, the evaluation status which was made available on 22nd September has shocked most of them because they have been granted a status of lowest possible grade and ‘re-appear’ only, despite performing well.

While talking to news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC), Suhail Ahmad a student at a Govt Degree College in South Kashmir said he and a majority of his batchmates are failing to qualify the 5th-semester examination as per the evaluation status which is ‘quite bizarre’.

The examination for the 5th semester was held in April-May this year in offline mode.

Another student from Bandipora who wished anonymity while talking to KDC said that he had done his best in the paper of ‘Sociology’ but unfortunately he is failing in the same subject.

“We had done our best in the examinations, if results stand like this we won’t be eligible to appear in PG entrance tests next year, adding that our academic career will get halted”.

The repeated attempts to contact Controller Examinations, Prof Irshad Nawachoo didn’t materialize.

The evaluation status has put most of the students across Kashmir in distress. As such they have requested the university authorities to re-check their papers at the earliest. (KDC)
