UP college denies entry to Muslim girls wearing Hijab

A distinguished faculty in Aligarh issued an order ‘banning’ entry of scholars within the campus without “prescribed uniforms” and refused entry to Muslim women who had been carrying hijab.

The Shree Varshney School, on Saturday, directed college students to not cowl their faces while attending class. A number of college students returned dwelling after they had been denied entry.

A pupil, finding out in B.Sc last 12 months, stated that the school authorities had first requested her to take away the burqa which she was carrying whereas getting into the campus and later they requested her to take away the hijab, too.

“I fail to know why they’ve an issue with our hijab. I’m not ready to go anyplace without a hijab and the school will not be permitting us to enter the campus anymore,” she stated.

Administrative officer of the school, Beena Upadhyaya, stated that this discovery is a ‘reminder’ to college students that there’s a “gown code” within the faculty and the identical needs to be adhered to.

When contacted, faculty proctor Anil Varshney stated, “The gown code is clearly talked about within the prospectus.

“We solely need college students to observe the principles and laws of the school. We’re following instructions. The scholars have simply been informed that gown codes shall be carried out with extra seriousness now,” he added.– IANS
