Three Militants have been killed in an encounter that broke out between government forces and militants in the Nagnad area of DH Pora in Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday morning.
A Police official told The Kashmiriyat that a cordon and search operation (CASO) was launched in the area by a joint team of forces including Army’s 09RR, CRPF and JK police on specific inputs about the presence of militants in the Nagnad area.
He said that after trapping the militants, they were asked to surrender, however, they opened fire which was retaliated, this triggering an encounter.
The official said that during the gunfight three Militants have been killed, who are yet to be identified.
The search operations to trace out the bodies of slain Militant are still on, the firing has stopped.
Three Armymen have also been injured during the gunfight, they have been shifted to Army’s 92 Base hospital in Badami Bagh Srinagar.
Meanwhile, the internet has been snapped in the South Kashmir’s Kulgam District.
