Village Dairy: Chersoo Awantipora residents rue lack of basic facilities

The residents of Kutpora Chersoo village in Awantipora hamlet of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district are up in arms against the administration as the area has been completely neglected by the successive government.

As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the residents said that the area has no proper road connectivity despite it being just one kilometre from the national highway.

They said that the condition of the road is so bad that they are unable to move out of their residences and in emergencies they are facing the problems.

They further added that the existing transformer in the area is critically overloaded due to which it gets damaged frequently.

“Whenever we get power supply, voltage drop remains the main issue,” they said. “There are several households in the area who don’t have any access to drinking water facilities.”

“We have brought these issues in notice of higher ups several times but to no avail,” local said.

Locals requested concerned authorities to look into the matter at an earliest so that they can heave a sigh of relief—(KNO)
