Kashmir’s first Independence Day coach will start its operations from Budgam to Baramulla stations and all arrangements have been finalized, officials on Monday said.
The coach was manufactured at an estimated cost of about Rs 4 crore by the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai and will be introduced before Independence Day.
Kashmir got its first train service in 2013 and it was inaugurated by then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
A top official at Northern Railways confirmed this development and stated that all preparations have been made for the imminent introduction of Vistadome service in the Kashmir valley.
