Hundreds of Burqa-clad women took out a protest march in Central Kashmir’s Khanda Budgam to express solidarity with the female students of Karnataka over the Hijab ban.

Chanting Slogans and demanding revocation of the decision on the Hijab ban, they said that whosoever tries to snatch away their identity, will get destroyed.

The Protesting women said that the hijab is their right and no one can snatch their right. “On one hand, the Government talks about Women empowerment but on the other hand restricting freedom of women. The authorities are talking about secularism and democracy but they’re not allowing women to wear hijab,” she said.

“Hijab is our identity. It does not stop a woman from prospering. Whosoever has fiddled with our identity will get destroyed,” another protesting woman said.
