Residents of Asnoor Manzgam village in Kulgam district, South Kashmir, have been enduring a severe shortage of potable water for the past few days.

Today, locals accused the Jal Shakti Department of neglecting their plight and demanded immediate redress of their grievances. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, villagers reported that the water scarcity has persisted for several days, with no action taken by the authorities to address the issue.

A local resident highlighted that over 200 households are currently without access to drinking water, causing significant hardship for the community. “We are being deprived of water, and despite repeated requests, neither the concerned department nor the administration has taken any steps to resolve our problems,” said another resident.

In response, the residents have appealed to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam and other relevant officials to address and rectify the issue as soon as possible.
