A woman died in Trehgam area of Kupwara in North Kashmir after she came under a massive block of snow that fell down from a rooftop in the area.
An official confirming the incident to The Kashmiriyat said that Rahti Begum aged 70 years was outside her house when a massive block of snow fell down on her, and she was buried under snow.
The family rushed to help her out of the snow, but before they could do that, she had died under the snow, the official said.
Many on Social media have asked people to be cautious of the snow blocks falling from the rooftops. Senior journalist and commentator, Yusuf Jameel taking to his twitter wrote, “Watch your head (perhaps your entire structure). For next couple of days, this is going to happen in almost every nook and cranny of the Vale of Kashmir.”
