Yogi Adityanath, BJP are Liars: Says Arvind Kejriwal

On Sunday, speaking at Meerut’s Kisan Mahapanchayat, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal called BJP leaders and his Uttar Pradesh counterpart, Yogi Adityanath, liars over their claims on minimum support price.

He also took a nasty swipe at the BJP over farmer’s demand for the repeal of the new three agriculture laws.

While taking on the recent speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament, in which he assured that the MSP system would stay there and will be there in the future too, Kejriwal asked where in Uttar Pradesh, MSP was paid. He was only trying to mitigate the fears of the thousands of farmers who have been protesting for the past many months against the farms’ law, he added.

The statement used by Kejriwal was to attack the entire BJP leadership while his counterpart Chief Minister Adityanath was his main target.

In today’s rally, he said that “their minister keeps saying that MSP was there and will remain. But you tell me if farmers get MSP in any of the Mandis. They are all liars and Yogi Adityanath is one of them”.

He added that Adityanath was incapable of ensuring payments to sugarcane farmers. He also said that they were not getting their dues for the past two years. He was trying to seek “why Adityanath was not able to fix the problem of sugar mill owners”.

He noted that the problems can be fixed only if you elect a government with the right intent and then the funds can be issued to the people. He cited his own government’s example in Delhi with regards to power supply and bills in the city.

He also took up the issue of a hike in prices of fuels, he restated that a government with the right intent could bring down the rates of fuels.

He told the Mahapanchayat that “at the end, I would like to say that this is a national movement, a pure movement, I am not doing any favors to you. I will tell you that the government will ultimately have to bow before you and look at your demands”.
