Youth Tortured in Custody For Protesting Against Zakir Musa’s Killing- Minor Critical

Locals of Dharmuna in Budgam district on Sunday held a protest demonstration against the arrest of seven teenage boys by Government Forces during a protest against the killing of Zakir Musa on Thursday.

Four of them who were minors have been released by the Indian Army, while two of them have been tortured inside the custody by Army, the family alleged. “Two of the arrested youth have been let off in injured condition by army,” adding that one of them has been shifted to SKIMS and the other one has been shifted to JVC Bemina for treatment.

According to the protesting locals the army personnel arrested seven boys on May 24 (Friday) following protests in the area after the killing Zakir Musa, the Chief of Al-Qeada affiliate Ansar Ul Gazwatul Hind.

The injured have been identified as Fazil Fayaz Malik aged 14, a resident of Hatharan Dharmuna and Hamidullah Sheikh resident of Dharmuna.

Hospital officials told The Kashmiriyat that Fazil has a head injury and has a coagulation of blood in his head adding that the next 72 hours are crucial for Fazil.
