Zampathri brought on Tourism map of Kashmir, Media tour conducted by Shopian admin

The District Information Centre, Shopian conducted a media tour to Zampathri, Shopian in order to take an exposure tour for the promotion of tourism activities in the area.

Zampathri, 20 kilometers distant from Shopian Town, in Keller Block has many breathtaking things on offer, ranging from mesmerizing beauty of lush green meadows and Plains, views of gushing waters of Romshi River, other streams, and captivating rich tribal culture. Equally significant is the rich flora of the area.

The area is ideally suited for Paragliding, Trekking, Camping and other adventurous activities.

Gaddar Meadow, one of the largest in Valley, Ringwald, and Chotimarg shall be a delight for youth, who are more interested in trekking and camping.

According to a press release issued to The Kashmiriyat, Media persons belonging to different national and local organizations took part in the exposure tour, and highlighted the significance of the admin’s historic decision of notifying the area under the Tourist Villages Network Programme.

Locals while speaking to the media appreciated the initiative and thanked JK administration for the inclusion of the village under the Tourist Village Network Programme ( TVNP) of Mission Youth.

Mir Hussain Kasana, a local while thanking the office said, “vast employment opportunities shall get created especially for the unemployed youth due to the inclusion of village in TVNP.”

The JK administration has along with Zampathri notified five other places in district Shopian as Tourist attraction under the network ,including Dubjan, Hirpora along Mughal Road, Sedow near Aharbal Waterfalls, Devpora and Kapal Mochan.

Their inclusion is very welcoming news for the people of the district who will be benefited in many ways,once they come forward and take the benefits of financial assistance and subsidy under Mission Youth.

“The Mission Youth shall provide financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh, of which Rs 1.5 lakh as special upfront incentive, subsidy and Rs 3. 5 lakh as special subsidy towards repayment of loan to banking partner under self employment activities in Tourism and Hospitality in these notified villages,” the DIO press release read.
